Inspiration Things I Love

Things I Love: May ’16

At times, especially when I make posts like this, I think back to events from a few months ago and think ‚Wow, but this was just now, wasn’t it?’ Like when I think about moving into our new apartment in March, and now we have June and it feels like I’ve been living here for just a two weeks or so (that reminds me that I still have to show you the finished interior). I’m honestly already excited to exploit the height of the ceilings for an extra large Christmas tree this year.

I know it’ll cost me a fortune, and it’s a bit weird to think about such things when summer has just started, but that’s what my mind does at times. Enjoying the pleasant cool in my home when it’s hot outside and thinking about Christmas. Weird.

big11: How can anyone be so creative to embroider a kitchen strainer? This is both totally fascinating, hilarious and beautiful at the same time. And wouldn’t it be perfect for the kitchen? I think I seriously need to learn how to embroider. Here

2: This can be a sculpture, or just a simple shelf looking like a wonderful addition to any room. I bet you can easily craft this with some leftover boxes (shoe boxes, wooden boxes etc.) and a few cans of spray colour. I wish I had some more space in my apartment for this! Here

3: Aah, finally something belonging to the world of fashion. What a cool way to upgrade a simple shirt and wear this as a piece of jewellery at the same time. I do have to find out how to craft this, as soon as possible! Here

big24: This idea is simple as it is beautiful. Just spray paint a small branch in gold, put it in a small vessel filled with concrete and let it dry. Perfect decoration with a purpose! Here

5: Okay so I know that rhubarb season is in its final throes, and I admit that I am a bit late this year. But I want to bake so badly, and this crumble looks so juicy, sweet and delicious that I just cannot not do this! Here

6: I honestly don’t know if I am going to be at the beach at all this year (same here as with the rhubarb, a bit late), but in case I am, I want to be wearing this. Do you see how easy this is to craft and how wonderful it looks? Here

big37: I do kind of like those letter signs, and who doesn’t love to decorate his home with some good and inspiring quotes? I bet this is easy to craft, I love things you can personalize in such an easy way! Here

8: I just love reusing everyday articles in a way you would never imagine. Just look at this extraordinary lamp, made out of simple wire clothes hangers! This is brilliant. Here

I love having one of those “why didn’t I think of that” moments. I hang my tea strainer on the wall. Might as well make it look pretty.

Thanks for the round-up! I need to make rhubarb crumble asap – it looks amazeballs. And if you like the jeweled collar – feel free to check out a variation I did here: DIY Jeweled Collar

That strainer is adorable. Now I’m tempted to embroider the one in my house although my mum would probably go crazy.

I saw that “chop your own wood” sign on Pinterest and I am obsessed! So cute and fun that you can change out the letters! Also that kitchen strainer is fascinating haha someone is very clever 🙂

IN LOVE with number 6! Kind of a shame I can’t buy it, and would have to make it myself. I’m not all that good with my hands!
